As Christians, we are called to proclaim the Gospel in our words, our work and in our lives. We are all involved in the mission and ministry of the church.
St. Joseph and St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church has a variety of ministries to the people of our community.
We offer beautiful and traditional High Church Eucharistic worship services every Sunday at 8:45 am.
Our pastor and church members help to run a food pantry and Bible Study program in conjunction with St. Clement’s Episcopal Church every Tuesday afternoon. St. Clement’s is located at the corner of 153rd and Loomis in the City of Harvey.
Our church works in conjunction with Jesse Brown VA Medical Center to provide care and counseling to hospitalized and homeless veterans.
With the VA, and supporters all across Chicago, we help to provide winter survival gear to homeless veterans. Our deacon, our treasurer and several members of area churches knit and crochet numerous scarves and wheel-chair blankets for hospitalized and homeless vets.
Together with our Bishop and with Operation PUSH, we are actively seeking to stop gun violence in the Chicago area.
We are active in environmental concerns. We run the annual Chicago Day of Prayer to bring spiritual healing to the rivers and waters of the world. We also support local environmental renewal efforts, such as community gardens and the Tree-Keepers.
We support Chicago South Side Irish Cultural renewal efforts. We support the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and we run the annual South Side James Joyce Society celebration of Bloomsday. We also run the annual Celtic Mass and Irish Story Festival right here at St. Joseph and St. Aidan.
We invite you to participate in our ministry and mission.
